Last Changes to Privacy Policy: July 29, 2025

Malta Inc. is strongly committed to letting you know how we will collect and use your personal information. The policies below are applicable to data and information collected when you use the Malta websites, including www.maltainc.com (including any versions optimized for viewing on a wireless or tablet device); all email newsletters published or distributed by Malta; and all other interactive features and communications provided by Malta (“Sites”), however accessed and/or used, that are operated by us, made available by us, or produced and maintained by Malta Inc. and any related companies (collectively “Malta” or “we”, “us”, or “our”). We have established this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) to let you know the kinds of personal information we may gather during your use of this Sites, why we gather your information, what we use your personal information for, when we might disclose your personal information, and how you can manage your personal information. Personal information refers to any information that can identify you directly or indirectly, such as your name, email address, or IP address. Non-personal information is data that cannot identify you personally, like aggregated usage statistics.

Please be advised that the practices described in this Privacy Policy apply only to information gathered online through our Sites. It does not apply to information that you may submit to us offline or by companies or organizations to which we may link or who may link to us.

Your use of our Sites constitutes your understanding and agreement with the terms of this Privacy Policy. For certain processing activities, particularly those involving non-essential cookies and direct marketing, we will obtain your explicit consent as required by applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Sites. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you by prominently posting the updated policy on our Sites, and where appropriate, by other means such as email. Your continued use of our Sites after such updates indicates your acceptance of the revised terms. If we intend to apply the modifications or amendments to this Privacy Policy retroactively or to personal information already in our possession, we will provide you with notice of the modifications or amendments.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or don’t see your concerns addressed here, you should contact us by email at info@maltainc.com.

International Data Transfers and Jurisdictional Matters

Your information collected through the Sites may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country where Malta, its clients, affiliates, or service providers maintain facilities. Please be aware that the data protection laws in these countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

We take appropriate steps to ensure your privacy is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

For individuals residing in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland: When your personal information is transferred outside the EEA or Switzerland, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required under Article 46 of the GDPR. These safeguards primarily include the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, which impose contractual obligations for data protection on both the data exporter and data importer. We also implement supplementary technical and organizational measures as necessary to ensure a level of protection essentially equivalent to that guaranteed within the EEA.

By using our services and providing your information, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where Malta, its affiliates, or service providers operate, subject to the safeguards described in this policy.

  • Registration for an event sponsored by Malta (Legal Basis: Contractual Necessity, to provide event services)
  • Submitting an application to work at Malta (Legal Basis: Pre-contractual Necessity, to evaluate your application)
  • Participation in surveys (Legal Basis: Consent, which you provide by participating; or Legitimate Interest, for improving our services)
  • Signing up to receive alerts or other information via email, text or instant message from Malta (Legal Basis: Consent, which you explicitly provide)

  • Submission of content or other data and information on any part of the Sites that permits it (Legal Basis: Consent, by submitting the content; or Contractual Necessity, if part of a service)
  • Any other place on the Sites where you knowingly volunteer personal information (Legal Basis: Consent, by voluntarily providing the information)

Non-Personal Information

In addition, when you interact with the Sites, we may collect certain information that does not identify you individually and our servers may automatically keep an activity log of your use of our Sites (“Non-Personal Information”). Generally, we collect and store the following categories of Non-Personal Information:

  • Device information about your computer, browser, mobile device, or other device that you use to access the Sites. This information may include browser type, browser language, and other transactional information.
  • Analytics and usage information about your use of the Sites.
  • Additional “traffic data” and log files such as time of access, date of access, software crash reports, session identification number, access times, and referring Sites addresses.
  • Other information regarding your use of the Sites that is not Personal Information.

Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Like many websites, we use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies (collectively, “Cookies”) to enhance your experience, analyze site usage, and support our marketing efforts. Cookies are small data files placed on your device.

We use the following types of Cookies on our Sites:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the operation of our Sites and cannot be switched off in our systems. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site may not work.
    • Legal Basis: Legitimate Interest (essential for site functionality).
  • Analytics/Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources, so we can measure and improve the performance of our Sites. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous or pseudonymized, and is only processed for non-essential purposes with your consent.
    • Legal Basis: Consent (obtained via our cookie consent banner).
  • Functional Cookies: These cookies enable the Sites to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all of these services may not function properly.
    • Legal Basis: Consent (obtained via our cookie consent banner).
  • Marketing/Targeting Cookies: These cookies may be set through our Sites by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device.
    • Legal Basis: Consent (obtained via our cookie consent banner).

Your Cookie Choices:

Upon your first visit to our Sites (or periodically), you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize your preferences.

If you wish to reset your preferences, you can do so by clearing your browser cookies at any time. This can typically be done through your browser settings under Privacy or History, where you can choose to delete cookies or browsing data. Once cleared, our cookie consent banner will reappear on your next visit, allowing you to update your preferences.

Please note that if you disable or decline cookies, some features of our Sites may not function correctly or may be unavailable.

Do Not Track (DNT) Signals:

Your browser or device may include “Do Not Track” functionality. Because a universally agreed-upon “Do Not Track” compliance protocol has not yet been finalized, Malta’s information collection and disclosure practices, and the choices that we provide to customers, will continue to operate as described in this Privacy Policy, whether or not a Do Not Track signal is received. However, we do honor your explicit cookie consent choices.
