Malta Inc. to Showcase Steam-Based LDES Technology at the World Future Energy Summit 2025
November 13, 2024 – Cambridge, Massachusetts – Malta Inc., a leader in thermo-electric long-duration energy storage solutions, is pleased to announce its participation as an exhibitor at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from January 14-16, 2025. The Summit, a premier event for sustainable development, brings together energy sector leaders to explore innovative solutions for a clean energy future.
At the Summit, Malta Inc., together with its partners, will showcase its Steam Energy Management and Storage (SEMS) technology, a cost-effective, flexible, steam-based heat pump and generation energy storage solution. SEMS is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and can also operate as a stand-alone system. As a fully dispatchable renewable energy storage solution, SEMS supports a range of applications—from decarbonizing coal and gas plants to providing essential grid services, such as synchronous inertia; and supplying heat for the oil and gas industry, district heating and industrial processes. With scalable capacity and long-duration capability, SEMS offers utilities and industries a robust pathway to replace fossil-fuel-based power, enhance grid stability, and accelerate the transition to carbon neutrality.
Visit Malta Inc. in Hall 7, Stand 7350 to learn how steam-powered energy storage is driving the future of sustainable energy.

About Malta Inc.
Malta Inc. is a leader in long-duration energy storage solutions, dedicated to accelerating the transition to a sustainable, carbon-neutral future. Through its innovative Steam Energy Management and Storage (SEMS) technology, Malta provides a stable and reliable power supply, offering both flexible, cost-effective long-duration electricity storage and essential grid reliability services, including synchronous inertia, short circuit current, reactive power, black start capability, and frequency support. Malta’s highly efficient thermal storage plants operate at grid scale, with capacities in the hundreds of megawatts, making them ideal for replacing fossil-fuel power plants. Designed as a like-for-like alternative to natural gas-fired plants, a utility-scale 100 MWe Malta plant can store up to 1 GWhe of solar and wind energy. This enables the conversion of variable renewable energy into on-demand, round-the-clock power, supporting the deployment of vastly more renewable generation and driving a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
