Company Overview
Responsibilities
Directly responsible for all accounting and financial functions including, but not limited to, the monthly closing process, direct all accounts payable, payroll, monthly reporting for the CEO/CFO, and all treasury administration. The Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate. The Controller will be a business partner to the senior management team, and will also be responsible for strategic thinking, management and Board reporting and the thoughtful analysis and effective communication of key information.

- Effective time management skills and the ability to perform under deadlines.
- Manufacturing and cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn various tax and compliance regulations in new geographies as the company expands.
- Strong organization and project management skills.
- Experience with corporate finance, project finance and tax equity financing a plus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee all aspects of daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, client billing, reconciliations, and accounting period close with the willingness and ability to delve into and manage the details.
- Oversee and lead the accounting team in all financial reporting activities.
- Support and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies and procedures.
- Partner with other departments to provide financial analysis and support.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Support as needed with ad-hoc projects and reporting.
- Coordinate tax prep with our external tax accountants and annual audits of the business.
- Support filing state annual returns and local taxes for all business locations.
- Manage international entities in Spain, Germany, and Italy.
- Assist with implementation of ERP and FP&A systems.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- CPA license required.
- Knowledge of GAAP financial reporting requirements.
- Experience working for an audit firm.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- DOE grant reporting experience is a plus.
- Energy storage industry experience is a plus.
Preferred:
- Experience with a variety of financial software, including Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Bill.com, QuickBooks, Adaptive Insights, PowerBI, TriNet, and Bill.com.
- Knowledge of IFRS financial reporting requirements.
